Clean and conscious sport

The 2025 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships is striving to set a new benchmark and serve as a role model for future championships, particularly by being the most sustainable championship ever. A crucial aspect of this ambition is the focus on anti-doping efforts, which are essential for ensuring the long-term sustainability of sport.

Trondheim 2025 is the largest sporting event in Norway this decade and marks the second time our city is hosting the World Championships, the first being in 1997. With a population of 215,000, Trondheim is Norway’s third-largest city, boasting a rich tradition in skiing and winter sports, including cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, and ski jumping. Many Norwegian skiing legends hail from this city, including Marit Bjørgen, the most decorated Winter Olympian in history. We hope all participating athletes draw inspiration from these proud traditions and feel a sense of standing on the shoulders of giants as they compete in Trondheim.

We recognize the immense preparation and dedication athletes bring to such a championship and deeply respect the significance this event holds for them. Our commitment is to provide an environment that enables athletes to perform at their very best when they take to the starting line.

We are pleased and proud of our collaboration with Anti-Doping Norway. This partnership ensures that the doping control process is in the most capable hands. Beyond this, it is vital for us to take proactive steps and contribute to preventive anti-doping initiatives to safeguard both today’s and tomorrow’s clean, conscientious, and honest sports. As part of this commitment, we are proud to support the Ærlig talt campaign, which promotes meaningful stories, messages, and values.

Finally, we warmly welcome everyone to Trondheim and wish all athletes the best of luck in the championship!
